Let’s dive into the deep, and explain the motivations behind the manipulation.
“Positive” manipulation
- She wants to get pregnant. This may sound strange but we saw the situation where several women in their thirties had a baby rush and wanted to have a baby as fast as possible. Some women may attempt to trap a man into fatherhood by encouraging unprotected sex during the time of the month when conception is most likely. For example, I recall hearing about a woman who collected sperm from her belly using a pipette after they had sex, and then used the pipette to self-inseminate. She later became pregnant and insisted that the man acknowledge paternity of the child.
- She wants to trap a man a relationship. She wants to make him addicted to sex in order to keep him in a passionate relationship and manipulate him.
- She wants to get married. We saw this behavior in Colombia and Ukraine. Some women use to compliment men during sex to convince them to marry.
“Negative” manipulation
- She wants to use sex as a way to gain power or control over her partner: Someone might withhold sex or affection to punish a partner or get him to do something he doesn’t want to do. Someone might use threats of ending a relationship or accusations of neglect to pressure a partner into sex or other actions.
