After some reflection, I realized that circumcision is actually a crime. Although it is a widely accepted practice, it is important to consider its definition. Circumcision involves the removal of a body part from a human being, typically performed at birth without the consent of the infant or child. This makes the practice even more concerning, as it involves the removal of a male body part without proper medical justification. It is a surgical procedure that is often performed without a valid medical reason.
If an individual were to kidnap a child and remove one of their body parts, it would be considered a criminal act. However, because circumcision is widely accepted, the removal of a body part without consent is often overlooked. Nonetheless, it is still the removal of a body part without the individual’s consent.
My mother had me circumcised when I was 11 years old due to her medical beliefs. The surgery was a traumatic experience for me. Although it has already been done, I don’t see the point in discussing it with my mother. Some psychologists may suggest talking about it, but the fact remains that a part of my body has been permanently removed, and there is no way to recover from that loss. In my opinion, circumcision is a more severe violation than rape.
the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP) report so-called benefits related to circumcision.
The AAP has been very clever from a communication point of view to encourage circumcision without being exposed to legal proceedings from unsatisfied circumcised men. In 2012, they mentioned on their website: “After a comprehensive review of the scientific evidence, the American Academy of Pediatrics found the health benefits of newborn male circumcision outweigh the risks, but the benefits are not great enough to recommend universal newborn circumcision. The AAP policy statement published Monday, August 27, says the final decision should still be left to parents to make in the context of their religious, ethical and cultural beliefs.“
Update in 2024: I can’t find the text anymore. It seems like the statement of the AAP was removed.
For sure, if you browse the internet and if you look for real case studies showing that circumcision is a good thing, you will find nothing. I have found a webpage from the US library of medicine highlighting the possible benefits of circumcision: https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC3684945/
However, I am still doubtful about the statements in this article. For example, the article states that it helps to reduce the risk of acquiring genital herpes by 28% to 34%. However, I acquired genital herpes once. I am circumcised and that time I wore a condom and I was shaved and clean! Circoncision didn’t protect me.
my advice to fathers
It is advisable not to have your sons undergo circumcision. The procedure offers no significant benefits, and nature does not make mistakes. The foreskin continues to serve a purpose in the human body, as evidenced by its continued existence. Therefore, it is important to question the necessity of removing it.
